Why don't we have an OPTION to limit the time for a move?

Playing longer time controls will give you more time to think.

Formula for a 3 minute game = Thinking time + (40 moves per game x 3 seconds to move a piece).

So in a three minute game, I only have 1.5 seconds to think things through. In ultra bullet, I am playing out a plan mechanically, without taking the time to solve problems. With experience it's easier to play fast paced games. When I was novice, I was struggling to visualize how the knight moved.

Since the site has different levels of players, it becomes obvious that the time to move a piece cannot be a fixed time. It must be variable according to a rating level.
There is nothing wrong with the option of having byo-yomi.
@fpvbmct OP isn't suggesting Byoyomi. They're suggesting having a limit of amount of time allotted per move *while* a player still has thinking time available to them.

A thread discussing the pros and cons of including a Byoyomi option would be very interesting, but it's not what's being discussed here.
For the ones that don't know what an OPTION is. An OPTION is something that you use IF you want to, you don't have to use it and what I was referring to is OPTION the you can put any amount of time that you want. This will not let someone that is losing stay without play for the rest of the time. If you play chess at 30 minutes, which is what I like, that helps!!!
A bad idea does not become a good idea simply by writing it in capital letters
@ddu_du_ddu_du Yes it does. For example:

Hookers, coke, and blackjack party

vs.

HOOKERS, COKE, AND BLACKJACK PARTY!!!

The second one sounds like a great night out.

The first one sounds like the police report afterwards.
