Chess Connections

Chess Connections is a Facebook Group that connects players globally on and off of the board. It is a private group where most members must know someone in the group in good standing (with some exceptions, e.g., members from groups not represented in high levels can be approved regardless of connections) to be approved. We started with under 100 and now we are at 3K member spanning across the globe, almost all of whom are connected to someone else in some way. In fact there are over 6K people with pending approvals (due to not knowing a member in the group). Our group really highlights that Chess Connects US!
If you are not a member of the Chess Connections FB group and you are participating in these events and would like to become a member please do go ahead and join. You can also feel free to message Adia Onyango, the group founder to speed up the process.

The Chess Connections Team room on lichess was created during the CoronaVirus outbreak to help members to connect with each other via playing online and also using video conference zoom. Our first tournament was 4/29/20. Due to the positive response we have decided to keep these events going.
