is it possible to have the name of each variant included/shnt varown on the front page list, instead of just an icon? because lots of new folks click the different variants cluessly thinking its normal chess, end up losing points not to mention testing the patient of the opponent as he or she remains frozen the entire game..
im sure everyone agrees with me on this, so i hope its possible to add such a helpful note :)

Variants are separated under a header, the name shows up when hovering the icon. And it is displayed in a blocking popup with a short description
If they don't read that warning, they will not read other text.
In my opinion, the design would be improved to have text+icon appear in the list, and then get rid of the popup dialog. The popup dialog annoys people who know what they are doing. The text+icon in the list is sufficient for people who haven't yet memorized 10 different icons (literally 10 different icons) and it makes things easier to scan quickly even when you do know what the icons mean.
