advice on how to move a knight?

One of the reasons I like lichess better than the other site, is that it draws the arrows for knight moves correctly: the knight moves along the diagonal of the 3x2 rectangle, and that way passes between the pieces that may be on the two "middle squares". (It does not need to cheat by using the 3rd dimension -- anyone else (Q, R & B) coud do that as well...)
I can't hide my deception when I saw the subtitle of lichess.org/learn#5 :-( !
you can't move a knight unless you enter its own world: the KNIGHTMARE!! ;)
For the strongest grip, use your thumb and index finger.
Be careful not to tip over the bishop while you grap the knight.
Lift it up steadily, and calmly place it on your predetermined square.
If that square is occupied by an opponent's piece, it gets a little tricky, here you must use both the thumb and index finger, as well as the middle finger. Put it down gently on the board, while simultaneously switch your grip to the opponents piece, which you will lift up, at put down by the side of the chessboard.
Your opponents piece should preferably be a queen, but statistics shows that it is most likely just a pawn.

Now if it's still to difficult, you could use both hands when capturing, but I recommend learning the one hand movement, it looks a lot cooler this way.

This works similar with all types of pieces, and should in theory work for left-handed people as well, although I haven't tested that out yet.
Magnets. It worked for Regium, it'll work for you, too.
Before moving your knight make sure you can't be trapped on the square you plan to land on, so hopefully you have an escape route or defense in place already.
