Monopoly over Candidates 2016 broadcast - including pgns

@scoreman I have to admit I don't really know much of Agon and what I gathered from the surface it seems a little sketchy.

And yes they had a few slip up and have shown some incompetence. In handling the event. Why would you think they made up the claims of DDoS? With all the hate they have received it would not surprise me that someone actually orchestrated the attack.

@greenwrench, who is being pushed away? The games are all available on their site, there is a live stream that is free. It is all there for us. They are merely putting on a delay on when others can report on it to steer more traffic to their site and profit from the product they created.
I'm pretty stupid when it comes to all this law precedence. I just recall reading that the argument has been going on since Steinitz and Capablanca. I just cant see baseball, soccer, etc. charging for rights to distribute the game and the chess moves are the game. I don't like it; i like everything free. Since sponsors are paying for the whole shebang and they can't get much from ads for chess where else are they to get profit? And profit drives the game. Try holding a major tournament without big money prizes and see how many players show up.
@likeawizard people have compared the time their site was down to the time when they said the attack happened. I dont have a link at once, but read this several times during the past days. shouldnt be hard to check.
