click "play with a friend", make sure it's set to casual, and send the link to your friend.
You can do that and it will work fine, or you could tell him to register to the best chess site in the world and challenge him here ;)

wheres the play with a friend option? i cant find it, that's what im looking for (on the app i mean; where is that in the app?).

In the app you can see the Play with a friend in the main view which pops up immediately. Beneath the quick pairing options.
Also regarding these forum posts, if you go to your profile you can see the posts on the activity tab and better yet at the top of the page just beneath your username where it says "21 forum post" for you.

is there a way to get a notification or see if someone has responded to one of my posts or do i need to manually check for that? in this case i needed an answer so was checking here for it but if for example someone had posted to respond a month later i may never have seen it. on most forums there's some kinda alert you get but i've not seen that here.
and this is a minor thing so not that imp but is there a way to filter for topics i created vs seeing every single post? at the moment it doesnt matter much since i only have 21 posts but if at some point i have say 20 topics each with 10 posts, i'd rather just see those 20 topics rather than wade through 200 posts.

These were actually my first posts here and I think I didn't get any notification about your recent messages. I don't really know if there is a way to get notifications or filter posts. However to me it seems that some of these features are lacking. If you want, you could at least make a post in the feature request section regarding these issues. I don't know how many people they have developing this site since it's ad free but that is probably the best thing you can do. :D And ofc become a Lichess patron which I think im gonna do soon.
