Discover how you can get to a 2200/2300+ level!

Introduction

It is not easy to get to a 2200/2300+ chess rating...

However, if you follow the ten tips in this article, it can be a more straightforward and more enjoyable process :)

Let's dive right in!

Tip 0 - Know Your Why

Are you rated 2000+ and looking to become a chess master?

This is the start of a series on how to do just that :)

Your timeframe will vary depending on your application level (both time spent and how effectively you use that time). Still, it's definitely achievable if you have a powerful enough reason driving you.

What's your reason for becoming a chess master?

I'm working on a more detailed series to help chess players improve, but this one here targets players rated above 2000 and below 2300.

Tip 1 - Play An Opening Variation In Practice Games

Anyway, here is the first of my ten tips:

- Play an opening variation in practice games before studying the theory (as an experiment).

Why: So that you remember and understand things better when you study the moves and ideas later.

We learn best from our own experiences.⁣

Of course, mastering openings involves a lot more, and in Part 2, we'll discuss how to learn even more from each game we play.

For now, let me know - what it would mean for you to become a chess master?

See you next time for Part 2 :)
