There should be some kind of 1 on 1 match system on lichess
Not all tournaments are multi player, some "tournaments" are only 1 on 1 match best of X if you watch some games at the top
That's what the rematch button is for.
@xXDaveXx if you want to rematch,then just click rematch button and if opponent wants to play with you,then he would accept offer.
I'd honestly like a "gauntlet" style tournament where the champion defeats all challengers (whoever plays Black has draw odds).
In theory the UI could look like the simul invite screen and player(s) would line up to repeatedly challenge the champion.
I like this idea of a "king of Lichess" whose name will be somewhere on the home page and who is challenged every month in a multiple-game match.
Of course a challenger needs to be decided, which could be a raison d'être for direct elimination tournaments!
I'm still waiting for "match system" I love playing bullet games and it's great idea to create contract for e.g. 10 games (escape or withdraw = lost ranking points in rest of contract unplayed games)
